Four decades ago, skydiving instructor Dennis Bulin had an idea. A gear and product-obsessed tinkerer, Bulin loved tapping his experiences in the air for future equipment modifications.
After scuba diving for the first time, Bulin felt that same creative urge and it wasn’t long before he was engineering his skydiving know-how into advanced scuba prototypes, eventually founding Zeagle Systems in 1980.
Forty years later, Zeagle is still the tip of the spear for design innovation. Our dive gear is manufactured on U.S. soil, but it’s trusted by dive professionals, service members, first responders and recreationists worldwide. True to Bulin’s obsession with performance, we still scrutinize every stitch, every material and every solution.
To celebrate Zeagle’s 40th anniversary and to honor our legacy of partnership with service members and first responders, over the next 40 days we’ll be partnering with 10 organizations that support our veterans and retired first responders. Each foundation will receive a free BCD, mask and fins to support their cause.
One of the foundations we’ll be partnering with is FORCE BLUE. Established as a 501c3 nonprofit organization in 2016, FORCE BLUE seeks to address two seemingly unrelated problems—the rapidly declining health of our planet’s marine resources and the difficulty returning combat veterans have in adjusting to civilian life—through one, mission-focused program.
By uniting the community of Special Operations veterans with the world of marine science and conservation, FORCE BLUE has created a transpartisan model of caring, cooperation and positive change with the power to restore lives and restore the planet.
We’ll also be teaming up with the SEAL Legacy Foundation, which is dedicated to providing support to families of wounded and fallen United States Navy SEALs, educational assistance for SEALs and their families, and other charitable causes benefiting the SEAL community.
Another group we’ll be supporting, Team 5, is a non-profit SOFMED Veteran Foundation that provides medical care in the most overlooked remote areas of the world. Team 5 consists of a small group of hand selected medical and survival experts who venture into the most extreme and austere locations on this globe to educate local healthcare workers, provide remote medicine and donate supplies to developing areas so they can be self sufficient.
Whether committed to ecological stewardship, veteran’s family support or guerrilla healthcare operations, our partners tap the skills and competence of veterans to tackle big, inspiring missions. As a strong, unwavering supporter of America’s service members, Zeagle is proud to be partnering with these and other foundations that support the veterans community.
Stay tuned and follow us on social over the next 40 days of our anniversary campaign to learn more about the foundations we’re working with and how to support our service members.
